ABOUT THE RAVEN:
Here in the Pacific Northwest, the Raven is the bringer of knowledge
to man. Raven has been the symbol for many of the cardiovascular
biology activities at the University of Washington since 1966 when
the symbol served as the logo for the Ninth International Vascular
Biology Meeting in Seattle.
ABOUT
VASCULATA:
"Vasculata" is a joke on the term "Chordata" and refers to the fact
that the closed vascular system first appears in evolution ... which
is more important the notochord or the vascular tree? Shouldn't our
phylum be called "Vasculata?"
ABOUT THE PAGE:
This is the homepage for the training grant in cardiovascular pathology at the
University of Washington and for the Schwartz research lab. Links to the
training grant site and to the Schwartz lab are at the left, or may be reached
